Help in a Crisis

Lichfield CAMHS offer a duty service from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm on 01543 442 012 offering advice to young people, families and professionals. We do not offer an emergency service unfortunately but if you or someone you know are in need of urgent help there are a number of steps you can take:

 

If you feel you are in crisis you should call 999 or go to the Accident and Emergency department (A&E) where there will be people there whose job it is to help keep young people safe.

 

For telephone advice you can contact these organisations:

  • Out of working hours please phone 24/7 MH Helpline on 0300 555 5001 for mental health advice and support. 

  • Urgent safeguarding concerns about a young person can be raised with First Response on 0800 1313 126 during working hours or though the Emergency Duty Team during evenings and weekends on 0345 604 2886

  • NHS England 111 ( 24 hour non-emergency number advice)

  • Childline 0800 1111 (24 hours)

  • NSPCC 0808 800 5000 (24 hours - For adults concerned about a child/young person)

  • Samaritans 116 123 (24 hours)

  • Young Minds parent helpline 0808 8025544 (Mon-Fri 9.30am-4pm)

  • Young Minds Crisis Messenger Support, to access text 'SHOUT' to 85258 (24 hours)
